To console his musician friend whose violin string has broken so that he can continue playing with it, a guitarist repairs the damaged instrument with a rose. However, the arrival of a charming flower-picker, with whom the violinist falls in love, complicates matters as she seems attracted to the rose. The gypsy music and the larval masks give way to a special musical poetry involving touching characters in a romantic dance.
