In a post-apocalyptic universe, a group of survivors build a machine in order to find a better world. In doing so, they make a clumsy attempt to reconstruct a zany and incomplete version of the history of mankind. Their work gives birth to Tcharounga, the giant cricket, hope for elsewhere or starting over and over again? A crazy ecological fable, Le Mangeur de Monde (The World Eater) invites us with humour to question our relationship with technology and our environment. What if the best thing to do was nothing? Not to start again? Two actors, two manipulators and a giant puppet pose this question to you: Can you answer it? A dialogue between two actors and a giant puppet, the street show tells the tale of a greedy cricket, a metaphor for the voracious appetites of a humanity on the verge of swallowing the planet. Combining a critical look at our relationship with the environment and a technical challenge, this creation is built around a mechanised cricket the size of a car. Hope or doom, the insect invites the audience to take a unique, yet daily leap.
